Waste Not! Carroll

This is the site for Carroll County Waste Services, the only commercial trash hauler in CC that offers a PAYT option. It's under the 'Waste Watchers' section of their site.

Yard trimmings and food residuals together constitute 26 percent of the U.S. municipal solid waste stream. That's a lot of waste to send to landfills when it could become useful and environmentally beneficial compost instead!

Currently Metro Vancouver is considering a plan which would lead to over half a million tonnes of garbage being incinerated every year. This would be a major step backwards for efforts to achieve Zero Waste. Zero Waste British Columbia is fighting this incinerator.

The Container Recycling Institute is a non-profit organization that studies and promotes policies and programs that increase recovery and recycling of beverage containers. We focus on programs that shift the social and environmental costs associated with manufacturing, recycling, and disposal of container and packaging waste from government and taxpayers to producers and consumers. Our website has a wealth of information on the recycling of plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers.

We are a collaborative group of educators, designers, builders, and artists who educate and empower people to build sustainable water culture and infrastructure.
