Yard trimmings and food residuals together constitute 26 percent of the U.S. municipal solid waste stream. That's a lot of waste to send to landfills when it could become useful and environmentally beneficial compost instead!

Currently Metro Vancouver is considering a plan which would lead to over half a million tonnes of garbage being incinerated every year. This would be a major step backwards for efforts to achieve Zero Waste. Zero Waste British Columbia is fighting this incinerator.
